I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way; but being white will unfortunately give you blinders to certain things. No matter how progressive you feel inside, you aren’t/can’t be perfect. I’ve always held the belief that no one expects you to be perfect, they expect you to take accountability when you’ve done something wrong or hurt somebody. That’s all I see here. You’ve listened to the feedback. Digest it. Take accountability. Do better moving forward. I wish everyone could follow that model. It’s not like this is a regular thing, then it’d be a different story. You’re allowed to make mistakes.

Im jewish and autistic and i dont think the Ann frank thing is on her. If she was taught her whole life that Ann frank survived, how is she going to know in the future to go out seeking more info? She already thought she knew everything and there’s not really a reason to look for more. Yes, learning about this is important and that’s what she’s doing. It’s on her mom for sheltering her. Autistic people learn differently and usually if we are taught one thing, we stick with that one thing.

If you consistently say the quiet part out loud and discuss things that are difficult to articulate, trying to represent a very complex community, you're going to miss the mark sometimes even if the point you were focused on was correct (which I think it was if I'm thinking about the right video) we just have to take into account feedback and improve the way we communicate it (and don't we have plenty of practice with that)
