Huge difference between empire building and colonialism. Not trying to mitigate the Arab expansion out of the peninsula but they didn’t do a colonialism. Colonialism is modern, it’s based on resource extraction under capitalism, we’re talking about forced labour, plantations and destruction of local industries all for the imperial cores economy, a global extraction of resources that displaced populations on continental scales and a racial hierarchy where whites are superior and others are less. In Malaysia they even designated each race to a certain job, no native will ever work as an officer. Modern colonialism is unique, to equate them both is downplaying it. It’s like comparing the Roman Empire and Colonial Britain. And no, a Roman colony is not the same as a modern colony, because it was small settlement of Roman citizens only used for administrative or military outposts, they didn’t seek to replace entire populations and integrated the local population into the Empire, how did you think the Roman “colony” of Hispania still have high DNA of pre-Roman Iberians till this day, yes the language is Romanised but the people stayed the same unlike the Americas, Australia and what they tried to do in South Africa.

Arabs repopulated with them owners of the lands producing mixed babies and that’s how these countries became “arabised” cuz Arab got into their genetics, also became an Arabic speaking country cuz just like how America now in it’s golden age Arabs were in their golden age so people willingly learnt Arabic as a sign of civilisation, also yes it differs from European (invasion) not colo nasation. Arabs didn’t steal from these lands and destroyed it. They just merged with them

It's sad how the world knows nothings about the cultural diversity of these so called "arab countries" from Africa. All their cultural, linguistic, ethnical diversity and history are erased because of that "arab" label. Of course it is cultural colonization.
