@flashntatz: Tattooing this Rock of Ages piece for Mason was a lot of fun, I’m really sad it’s over but I can’t wait until we get those ribs done and connect it all together! Rock of Ages was originally painted in 1876 by Johannes Adam Simon Oertel, Rock of Ages has become a staple of classic Western traditional back pieces, carried on by legends like Percy Waters, Bert Grimm, and the Bowery Boys. I sketched it on March 28th, finished painting by April 1st, and started lining it on Mason’s back just six days later. From first sketch to final tattoo: 43 hours total. 17 hours 8 minutes to paint, 26 hours to tattoo.
