I just returned from Japan. You have options and Uber to get either a taxi which is metered. Or a set price which is usually a little higher but you know what you’re finally paying. For the airport in Tokyo that worked out perfectly. Also, I found on the go taxi app I could not use my American credit cards because I presume as a security measure they would not allow an open fee because of the meter Taxi. And they will not give you a final fee till the end of the journey period. So the credit card would not allow that so I had to use Uber.

Taxi fahren ist in der Regel viel teurer als öffentliche Bahn. Taxi oder Uber nutze ich nicht in Japan. Uber eats dagegen ist Super.

日本は基本的にメータータクシーです。渋滞で金額が上がったりもしません。電車やバスと比べると特別安くはありませんが、迷いたくないなら良い選択肢になります。
