Education for the sake of education is so beneficial for the individual and for wider society! If you need a little convincing, education helps reduce the risk of developing dementia and that’s just one of the many benefits

I can't afford to go to university. I still developed critical thinking.

Yes, but I didn’t develop my thinking skills in university. Nobody cared. There was no pastoral care, no drive towards community. Yes there were clubs and unions that you could join if you were so inclined, but what if you were a confused, lonely social reject? My degree gave me information, not education. It assessed my ability to describe scientific processes, not one of my exams asked me anything that wasn’t explicitly explained to me. I don’t think a degree is synonymous with being educated.

Yeah but education shouldn’t ever lead to crippling debt. In places like the US there’s insane inflation on thr cost of tuition

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK ! Hear hear 👏 What drives me mad tho is no one cares about that part but monetizing their degree at the end & just chase credits to get to the degree, they don’t care to actually learn & frankly I think the profs have given up too bc they know who they’re dealing with. After a while, it’s gotten exasperating for them too. But I so so so agree with you ! Uni should not be easy, & should not be just you getting the diploma the fastest way possible !

Just an example
52.6% degrees in Spain
37.3% degrees in uk
Spain is better than the UK for inequality of opportunity

Literally I’m going back to college and uni at 40 and although I’ve always been pretty well read and had critical thinking skills I’m learning so much more than I thought I would it’s honestly needed at all levels of society!

Democracy is a sham in a capitalist society. Media, algorithms and pop culture influence the voters in favor of pro-corporate pro-imperialist agendas without fail.

Education isn't and shouldn't ever be free. Funded by taxes, yes ofc, but that is not free. Someone needs to compensate those teachers, that equipment...

i wholeheartedly agree. i went to art school and the most valuable thing i learned were critical thinking skills. it was literally like the videos her color bling people wear the glasses that let them see color for the first time. in all honesty, i think i could have learned almost every other skill through free or affordable tutorials online. but tjose critical thinking skills have been priceless. THAT’S WHY WHAT YOU DO ON HERE IS SO VALUABLE!! there are not many resources to learn this outside of academia, often behind a prohibitive paywall. i’m working on something similar for my community too, & your videos are helping 🥹💕
