@wbztv: 311 Omakase in Boston’s South End neighborhood earned the city’s first-ever Michelin star as part of the 2025 ‘Northeast Cities’ Guide, unveiled Tuesday. The prestigious guide book has been awarding its coveted stars to restaurants for nearly a century. Earning a star can bring instant, global notoriety to a restaurant.
Popeyes finally opened in Revere. That’s way more exciting, just saying.

The restaurant scene in Boston isn't great. It makes sense there is only one.

Sarma is the only place that deserves a star the guide lost all their validity when they didn’t even recognize Sarma I don’t trust them

This is my problem with Michelin. I’ve eaten at 311. The restaurant experience itself was worthy of the star, however the sushi… while very high quality, the flavors were subdued. There are multiple other omakase restraints around Boston I’ve eaten at that cost half as much and whose flavor has twice the impact (such as umami omakase in Cambridge). Michelin is too much about pomp and circumstance, not enough about flavor and impact of the food itself

It’s so funny people don’t realize that a city has to PAY for Michelin stars

The chef and his team does a beautiful job. It’s so personal and truly an art. I went in the summertime and they were amazing, both the service and the curated pieces.

The Michelin team is supposed to remain anonymous. so how do they get multiple reservations in a restaurant that is impossible to get a reservation?
