Knowing about Jesus won't save you. Jesus said it Himself. When the Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of sin, what sin does He name? Not lying. Not lust. Not addiction. Unbelief. That's the sin underneath every other sin. The one nobody talks about because it doesn't look like a sin. It looks like logic. Like independence. Like "I'm just being realistic." At its core, unbelief is the decision that you know better than God. That was the first sin in the garden. Satan didn't hand Eve a drug. He handed her a question. "Did God really say?" The moment she trusted her judgment over God's Word, everything fell. Nothing has changed since. The whole world has information about Jesus. You can Google Him and get a billion results. But information is not belief. Knowing about the doctor doesn't heal you. Trusting him enough to let him operate does. That's the gap most people are sitting in. They say "I believe in Jesus" the same way they say "I believe in gravity." Intellectual. Factual. Costs them nothing. Biblical belief is different. The Greek is pisteuō. To trust. To rely on. To put your full weight on. John 3:36 says "he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life." Believeth ON. Like putting your weight on a chair. You don't hover over a chair and say "I believe in chairs." You sit down. Most people are hovering. Every sin you're struggling with right now has unbelief underneath it. Anxiety? Not trusting God with your future. Lust? Not trusting God to satisfy you. Control? Not trusting God to lead you. People-pleasing? Not trusting God's opinion to be enough. Strip it all down and at the bottom of every single one is the same thing. "I don't fully trust You, God." That's okay to admit. That's where healing starts.
