sad the internet is so censored you can't even show how it looks and how embalming works instead of using a puppet

Don’t embalm, they look nothing like themselves and that horrific memory stays with you. Wish we never did that when my son passed away almost a decade ago. Just cremated.

embalming fluid isn't very environmentally friendly. What's the point of poisoning the world of the living in order to preserve the dead? We should figure out a new solution

Thanks for this. My dad passed unexpectedly and was undiscovered for approx 4-5 days. The funeral parlour said he was viewable, but I really don’t want to remember that way. Between reading his autopsy report and seeing content like this, strangely, it helps me cope with my conflicting feelings about not having viewed him. Almost every time though, I’m glad I didn’t.

My niece is a paramedic and she said they walked in house where a woman had been dead for quite a while and her dog had eaten a large portion of her body. I guess it's because she stopped giving him dog food.

Genuine question. Working in that environment, do you ever get scared knowing that one day that will also be you on the table. I think about mortality all the time and it’s a horrible thought

My dad had laid deceased in my bedroom for about anywhere from 2-4 days. I got to see him once on a picture and he was bruised blue and purple and he was bloated. I wasnt allowed to see him in person. He died from a brain aneurysm. I always wondered how long he’d been laying there all alone and how far into decomp he was when he was found.

Embalming is a American thing ?? We dont do that in the Netherlands only exeptions are if they have family abroad and have to be longer above ground family have more time to travel. we bury the death most on the 5th day sometimes longer ( holiday) good cooling and care helps

Do you embalm the stomach and intestines as well as arteries and veins? And does the big trocar evacuate the stomach and such?
