AnAkA describes this song as her “birth song” as he has played this piece for her since before she was born in the mother’s womb. To symbolize the power of this, AnAkA is here dancing in Magaliesburg, South Africa, said to be the cradle of all humankind. This is where the oldest remains of a human has been found. This visual contemplates the sacred crossing of source lands, blood and culture and how the source relationships we have with each other hold so much weight when it comes to true connection and purpose.
