I was in highschool when the Berlin Wall came down. Our history teacher refused to discuss it “it wasn’t in our curriculum” we had to memorize names of kings. Never did discuss it.

The best teachers are exactly like you and I loved learning from teachers who were engaging with the class. Teachers who made us read and write from textbooks, or the text they would scribe on the chalkboard every lesson - taught me nothing
