@lisa.newton2: I have started trialling a new preventer for my asthma. I am currently on number 4, trying to find something that actually works for me without sending my body into chaos. I have had asthma on and off my whole life, but this flare up has been one of the worst I have ever experienced. My last attack happened while I was camping in remote bushland and it was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life. I very stupidly didn’t bring my Ventolin with me and I nearly died. That experience shook me in a way nothing else has. My doctor has now prescribed that I need to be on a preventer daily for the rest of my life. The challenge has been finding the right one because I am allergic to most steroids. They send my blood pressure crashing, which obviously is not ideal. Most people know that preventers for respiratory conditions almost always include some form of steroid, so trying to find one that does not cause a reaction has been really difficult. Then you also have to avoid the awful side effect of mouth thrush, which is something I definitely do not want to be battling forever either. So here I am, on preventer number four. I am only on day two, but so far so good. No scary reactions, no signs of mouth thrush, and for the first time I am feeling a bit of hope that this might actually be the one. It is frustrating to know that this is something I will likely need for the rest of my life, especially when I try so hard to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Yes, asthma can come and go, but after what happened on that camping trip I never want to face a flare up like that again. When your lungs close and you genuinely think you might not make it, it changes you. I never took my asthma seriously enough until that moment. To anyone else out there living with asthma, I feel you. It can be scary and frustrating, but you are not alone. I am sharing my journey because it is something so many of us quietly deal with and it deserves to be taken seriously. But it also doesn’t have to stop us from living our lives, making memories, and chasing the things that make us happy. 🫶🫁#asthma #fyp #health #healthylifestyle #Fitness

I’m about 6 weeks on Trimbow now and finding more control than the three prior preventers I’ve tried. In addition, my specialist prescribed Ryaltris nasal spray yesterday. Fingers crossed. I hope that Trimbow works for you also!
