I swear south Asian bodies don’t do well with super high intensity workouts. I felt like I gained weight with burn bootcamp and orange theory. I love solidcore but it really hurts my traps and neck 😭 any tips?

girl cutting out sweet treats completely sounds like you're putting yourself under unnecessarily harsh mental strain. it's not good for our bodies to feel stressed. it's not worth it to attain western beauty ideals. when the body sense stress, it thinks we are in famine and will store more fat for survival.

The key is walking 10k steps, weightlifting ( I am a powerllifter) and I eat a cookie everyday…it’s how you manage your food structure…just plainly cutting out something doesn’t work until you are stepping for bodybuilding. I measure my macros Protejn, fats, carbs, fiber and also have sweet treats…just be in a deficit and do steps and weight training and here you will be. I have lost 80lbs

Also make sure you’re getting your protein in and eating enough. That’s what changed the game from me being small but not toned

i will say i’ve never felt much of a workout club pilates compared to other reformer classes (solidcore being the hardest!) but i would also recommend mat pilates!!! can be harder a lot of the times and it’s a lot easier to be focused on good form!!

In my view, abs are overrated. I am on my journey as well but to look healthy and work on my blood work (mostly cholesterol levels as thats where us south Asians have issues). If I get abs in process, great. But my main focus is fitting in my clothes again

Orange theory personally helped me with my relationship to cardio and I saw huge benefits in my health but my body didn’t really change tbh

I’m sorry but not having any sweets is unrealistic to me. I’d rather be a little pudgy and happy than cut out what I love. You’re beautiful regardless of having abs or not, good luck on your journey and congrats!

Re: diet, goal should be calorie deficit with high protein intake (in other words, lose fat but maintain / build muscle). You can have sweet treats but only if you adhere to that overarching principle
