As a nail tech, there is no reason why she should’ve said this to you ever! Even if the gel polish wasn’t pigmented, she could’ve just solved the issue with white polish before making you feel uncomfortable. Sorry you had to experience this :(

They probably thin out their nail polish with remover to make it last longer so she knew the color wasn’t going to be pigmented enough like it should be 🙃

If it was really that pressing of an issue she could’ve used white polish underneath lightly as a base, and then applied the light pink. I don’t understand why people sabotage their own businesses!!!

Guys the tech isn’t referring to skin tone, she’s referring to dark colored nail beds which is difficult to “fully” cover and not have thick polish. Personally I would still request my tech to do it but let’s not confuse colorism for color theory 😭 it’s the same reason why you wear color corrector under foundation. The shadow peaks through if you don’t do it that way and affect the final look.
