I’m not going to assume you are lying, but I drink ensures too mainly in the morning bc I’m too nauseous to eat anything. Ensures have water as their primary ingredient, along with milk protein concentrate (and sometimes a small amount of nonfat milk.) you said you can’t consume none of those? I’m just trying to understand.

As a nurse I learned that everyone has difference tolerances when they suffer from certain disorders! Just because she can eat ice cream doesn’t mean that she can drink water and I know that doesn’t sound like it makes a whole lot of sense to people, but it makes sense to her body… Just because ice cream melts down to a liquid it doesn’t mean that it’s the same drinking water…. someone with dysphagia can eat ice cream, but can’t drink regular not thickened water… All I’m saying is I’ve learned over the years that you can’t just judge somebody… It seems like her Gastroporisis and pots were diagnosed by a doctor. I don’t know about the sound disorder that is probably something that would be hard to diagnose but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have it either! She had a prescription to get IV fluids so clearly a doctor believes that she has gastroparesis and gastroparesis is diagnosed with testing I know because I have it also!!! I have had it for years since my first daughter was born in 2013! I don’t have as severe symptoms as she does, but definitely is a miserable thing to suffer from!

Doctors can prescribe for just iv fluids and fhey can be shipped from infusion pharmacies across the country so there's no reason this should be an issue. I work at one we have a few patients on just iv hydration AND they are also all over the country. Its more rare for us to have these patients but this doesnt make sense to me

Have they explored the option of Jejunostomy feeding tube (J-Tube)? It totally bypasses the stomach and allows for you to receive fluids and proper nutrition. Another option would be TPN.
