As a former avoidant….. yes 100%. It feels like a tormenting Hell knowing you hurt the person you loved most and weren’t emotionally mature enough to be there for not only them but also yourself. It Haunts me every day that I hurt my beautiful sweet girl.

I saw a video that said "people aren't running away from you, they're running away from the person they would need to become in order to keep you." It changed my perspective a bit on myself and the heartbreak I'm still going through. It's tough. Sending you good vibes and love ✨

hey. I'm an avoidant. in therapy. I don't miss people I discard ...I merely replace them. I didn't know I was hurting people...my brain was telling me they weren't right for me and a different person was...17 years later, it took me dating another avoidant to see his pattern and realizing I have been doing the same thing...I immediacy broke down..and will be attending my first trauma appointment on wed.

No they usually AVOID it. I'm not kidding. They may have a second of guilt but they usually numb it out. Distract themselves. They never truly sit with their own feelings how would they know how to sit with yours

hi, I'm an avoidant trying to heal. I can say that it heavily depends on the person. for myself though, I felt it. I still feel it. I regret what I did to my ex lover and will do anything in my power to be a better, secure person not only for myself but for them too if one day they find it in their heart to accept me back. I love them very deeply but I thought I was just incapable of accepting love. a self aware avoidant person with a will to change won't just sit there. I can't speak for all avoidants, that's just myself.
