just cut the caulk or silicone away and redo it your self better. do a proper job they won't mind. I installed new lighting in areas there wasn't supposed to. I mention it to them after I left and they was fine and really liked it. as long as you do things better than it originally was they dont care. ive had 2 rented properties now I own done it to each one. not buying bulking flexible plastics that looks terrible. personally not for me
