My mom bless her heart signed us up for every type of reading subscription she could get her hands on, this was the 90s y’all. So I grew up with an encyclopedia at home. The funny thing is I grew up reading encyclopedia’s in the 80s and then my mom and her other age before she died. I was like thank you so much for giving us those since encyclopedias. I use them at least every week and she said something about supplements and I was like supplements what are you talking about and apparently she had been putting supplements on the shelf and never telling us! Omg DK Eye Witness were some of my favorite books in elementary! & I scoured the internet for Smithsonian read-along collections for my kids. They love to read-along and fall asleep to the animal stories! (Which are factual, and top tier with sound effects and the *beep* to w the page for pre-readers).

I am my kids encyclopedia😂 but they always surprise me too that they’re able to find an answer to a question on their own, showing me their problem solving skills as well. My daughter was curious how bees made honey. She found a bee video on the PBS kids app that taught her their life cycle as well as how and WHY they made honey.
