I have used the Mederma cold sore patches to cover them & I think you could hide it pretty easily with makeup. Take ibuprofen or something for the swelling, & cut it so that the patch is not touching your face, only lip. Also just a note, I had a friend tell me that they noticed outbreaks after eating chocolate. I stopped eating it entirely & haven’t had a cold sore in 6 months (typically I was getting them 4-5 times a year). You may have a food that’s heavy with arginine you’ve recently eaten that causes them!
