@amieinchina: China is infinitely more efficient when it comes to medical care than the NHS. Pricing is reasonable even for non-Chinese people who will pay fully out of pocket. Fingers crossed I can have some answers sooner than later! 🩺👩⚕️ #travelchina #healthcare #nhs
9 years of trying with the NHS and it took 2 HOURS in China to finally get my Endometriosis diagnosis

Because it's a fully functional country.
We're clearly a failing society, with crumbling, outdated, understaffed, underfunded infrastructure.
China is a 1st world country

I had a root canal procedure in Shanghai and it was the most pleasant dental experience I have ever had. No pain or discomfort, beautiful facility, incredible staff.

UK Gp would see you’re a female, tell you it’s hormones, stress or anxiety and to try to calm down and go back in 6 weeks if symptoms hadn’t changed by which time you’ll see a different gp who won’t have read your notes and start down the same path!!

Not crazy at all. Very clever and efficient way to do all the medical tests in China. I am a Chinese live in the UK. If I feel not right. I would buy flight ticket straightaway back to China rather than to see the GP here. Hope you get well soon and good luck😃

I’m in Canada and my dad found a lump. Decided to fly back to china instead of waiting. He was booked in right away and also did a full body scan. He met a guy in the waiting area also from Vancouver that was doing test too. He said his friend had issues and he urged him fly back to china to get tests done since he “only has one life”. His friend didn’t listen and died waiting for healthcare in Canada.

My son had an unknown rash whilst on holiday in China. We were told to take a seat at A&E and wait to be called over by the triage nurse. Didn't even manage to sit down and got called over within seconds of us walking to the waiting area seats 🤣

medical tourism. its a thing, people either do it or dont. it's upto th individual, I m sure she will find the Chinese medical system fun...she might even say it's cheap, which it might be...for her...but not for locals. also her expectations might be a bit to high as to wht treatment plan is prescribed

Instead of going to China where there will be language barrier, why not come to Malaysia. Malaysia is famous for our medical tourism and all of our doctors are fluent in English. Cost wise, I believe its more or less the same as China's private hospital.

I would 100% do this too but only if the government allowed opting out of paying NI. Not paying twice for medical care, or the lack of it in UK

my bf was vomiting and had trouble urinating. I told him to get his 🍑 to the hospital ASAP. I was a medical student at the time so he listened. he told me some of his other symptoms and I thought it was prostate cancer, the hospital tried sending him home but he started vomiting again. they kept him in for 2 weeks trying to figure out what it was (they thought it was food poisoning 🤦🏼♀️), I kept asking for them to test him for prostate cancer but I was ignored. in the end they did the test, the normal psa range is 4.0ng, his was over 40! they did a biopsy and confirmed he had cancer. that was 5 years ago, he is much better now 😁
