@oceanx: How do we map the parts of the ocean that are too shallow for our ship? We dive in. The shallows make up less than 10% of the ocean, yet they hold some of its greatest biodiversity like coral reefs, seagrass beds, and nurseries for countless marine species. By mapping these vibrant but fragile ecosystems, we collect data that helps track habitat health, identify areas of ecological importance, and guide conservation strategies. Each dive brings us closer to a complete picture of the ocean’s living systems, strengthening global efforts to protect marine biodiversity and ensure a thriving future for the ocean and all who depend on it.
