Usually, I don’t worry about a delay in the cremation process normally it’s the family just wants to do the service really fast and we don’t have time to get everything signed

if it's empty then what's the point on even having the service. you could just do a get together somewhere else other than an expensive funeral home.

My grandfather passed in Scotland. He got lost in the mail for a while but we held off on a service until he finally arrived. Last trip around the world we said.

when my son passed we had his funeral w/o his body there. his body hadn't even been cremated yet, we got him back about a week after services 💔

I always comfort a family by literally explaining if you want the memorial service that quick because there's no time frame on a memorial service, you're loved one will more than likely not be at the service but this is what we can do "empty urn" enters the conversation, this is why I legit hate waiting on a family on Wednesdays (I'm in tx by the way) Thursdays aren't much better

We had to reschedule my uncle's memorial service and he was still almost late due to this exact reason. It's one of my favorite stories... lol
