@nicknamed.bree: No one is immune from an avoidant discard. Even if you’re the whole package—yep!!! In this video I talk about some of the things I’ve heard avoidants say after they left their perfect partner & threw away their happily ever after. #avoidantdiscard #avoidantattachmentstyle
Avoidants are triggered by healthy relationship behavior

If you're not ready for a relationship,
stop forming emotional bonds you have no intention of honoring.

A person who makes another fall in love with no intention of staying and loving them back is a despicable coward

my therapist told me the reason he did it to me was bc i was prly the closest thing to perfect he had ever had and when ppl haven’t been shown love their entire lives it doesn’t heal them it scares them deeply so they sabotage

I have been on a journey of trying to continually improve myself because I feel as if I wasn’t enough in our relationship. So I guess that is a good thing cause it’s leading me to work hard and improve my life.

So you're saying there's a level of good beyond perfect where they will stay? 🤔

She literally told me this. She said I did everything right, and it would’ve worked if she were in a different place.

I think the biggest thing is when you know you weren’t your best in that relationship for whatever reason. I’m not talking toxic, but you could have actually been better, now that you’ve done inner work. But now you have these doubts of yourself where you accept you weren’t perfect, and their actions of discarding or ghosting you have perpetuated the story that “you know you weren’t good enough or your best.”

It’s true… I didn’t realize how I felt until after I ended it with him. So painful. It’s how I learned about having fearful avoidance.

As a healing anxiously attached person, how do we know where the line is between taking accountability for our parts and beating ourselves up to an unnecessary extent? Alternatively, when do we know we’re assigning them their fair share vs. protecting our egos and “building our self worth” by avoiding accountability?
