well actor Brian dennehy is dead, so it's safe to assume that the sheriff of that town is dead too since they're the same person LOL, and after the first movie it's more than likely he retired anyway LOL

Sheriff, teasel would not have been able to carry on being a sheriff. Due to the fact that both his legs, really most of his body were damaged. Physically, he would not have been able to carry on the job.
