The real unemployment rate, the U6 rate, is 8%. Which is very likely also under counted/overly narrow for various reasons

I’m old s hood because I’m old that said if the DOL is hiring or as you said has 1 job available is it possible to go there and actually talk to someone? I’m a firm believer in being despite the rules of “only on line” I know you have tried everything and nobody is going to come up with something you haven’t tried, but being there knocking down a door and being persistent is worth something. I’d love to see you in the DOL because the system needs someone like yourself. Good Luck

The rate would go down significantly if people would accept jobs that pay under what their expectations might be. Some individuals would rather be unemployed than work for less than what they believe they’re worth.

I would say it's a corporate greed problem, I went to look for a job and it was a managerial position with a starting wage of $97k. Mind you, it has all sorts of requirements. The positions under that, a specialist o ly requires a hs with a starting wage of $15 dollars an hour. That's a big gap between the two. But I'm tempted at applying though.. 😩
