I refuse to categorise it as a Christmas movie. It’s a movie about love and grief centering on a close knit family with passive aggressive tendencies directed towards a dysfunctional side character, that’s then set at Christmas.

I comment this every time I see someone talking about this movie, but I actually saw it at an advanced screening with my friend and every single person in the theater absolutely HATED the film, and then when it actually came out all these people liked it and I was like oh they must have made changes, they must have done edits, they must have done reshoots, it must be good now. So I rewatched it and NOPE. It was the same twisted nightmarish hellscape I saw at the advanced screening, so I have been the OG hater of this movie and I genuinely cannot understand how any sane person can enjoy it.
