For years, I thought my legs were simply the part of my body I couldn’t “figure out.” I trained harder. I did more cardio. I tried to eat better. And I blamed myself when my legs didn’t respond like the rest of my body. Then I learned about lipedema. Getting diagnosed didn’t change my body overnight, but it changed my understanding of it. What has helped me most has been learning to work with my body instead of constantly fighting it: • Heavy strength training including 2 dedicated lower-body days/week • Daily movement + 10K+ steps • More recovery-focused cardio, less HIIT cardio • High-protein nutrition + a calorie deficit for overall fat loss • Prioritizing anti-inflammatory foods • Lymphatic support like dry brushing, vibration plate & manual lymphatic drainage when possible • And for transparency: I’ve also used 🌶️s since March, and they have definitely played a major role in this transformation. I still have lipedema. This isn’t a cure. But significant, visible change IS possible without surgery.
