This is my red ear slider. We “rescued” him. He came with his tank that he could barely turn around in and the smallest basking ledge, that would dip into the water cause of his weight. A couple days later we got a 300gal trough. He is thriving now. We were told he was about 15 years old. He sheds his shell all the time. His name is Rafael. He’s the cutest boy, and loves attention and little shell scratches

I feel like people really need to understand this. my red eared slider was a rescue. from some parents getting them for there kid for Easter. if I knew how much they needed I would have NEVER rescued her and sent her to a actual reascue. I love her and she's so weird but they grow so incredibly quick
