I remember, as a girl, reading a book about an ancient Chinese princess having one of these obsidian stone mirrors. Of all her treasures, this mirror was the thing she cherished most, and had to hide, so other members of the court would not take it. She bargained a lot of things when she was in danger and had to barter for her life, but not the mirror. She was able to hold to that obsidian mirror until I think she gave it to someone she loved (another girl of the court) because they would never see each other again. I think that’s what ended up happening. It’s been years since I’ve read the book. This totally brought that story my mind instantly 🥹💜 it was set during a very ancient time too. I think befoe China was even called China; back when it was a large group of different provinces and kingdoms, so it correlates with this information here! Ancient people, thousands of years ago, sometimes WERE able to see what they looked like and it was a great fascination and treasure to them! 🌺🥹🙏🏽💜⚫️💜

This is amazing and so heartwarming. Someone from ages and ages ago, and you’re connected to them through this mirror. They will never know it but they’re being remembered in a way.
