To PlayStation fans, Shadow of the Colossus is viewed as a holy grail when it comes to video games, however is it actually good? Now this game has a very simple story premise; a disembodied voice tells you to go hunt down a bunch of Colossal creatures. And you just go ahead and try and take them down. You don’t really play as a character but more so an avatar cause the whole reason your doing this is to wake up a woman who’s sleeping due to a spell. Now visually for being a PS2 game, it still looks great especially since it was remastered for PS4. The world is huge and the Colossi are all giant as well. Also this game isn’t an action game, it’s a puzzle game. You have to figure out how to find these beings, find out how to scale them and find out how to properly take them out without any guide or NPC giving you hints. That could definitely be a turn off for some players but a big issue I’ve always had is that sometimes the game will let go of the Colossi your dealing with so you’re gonna have to scale them again. And there’s this animation of falling that takes forever and it gets worse when the Colossi won’t stop attacking you! This is a legendary game for a reason and it really shows what a good artsy game can do! It looks good, it makes you feel smart and that ending…wow. I’d say Shadow of the Colossus is a game worth Buying on Sale! Though it is really good, I wouldn’t say it’s a game that you’d play more than once, maybe twice!
