@maggieroseadvocate: Sunscreen will do more for your skin long-term than anything else. Some research even estimates that around 80% of visible aging is from UV sun exposure! #sunscreen #sunscreenisimportant #healthyaging #antiaging #skincaretips

Doubt it. sunscreen doesn’t protect from what’s really going on in the atmosphere and it’s not the sun 🙃

I believe this! People who spend a lot of time in the sun usually have very defined Wrinkles

I used to work in derm and my doctor would explain it to patients by telling them to look at the skin of their inner thigh or upper, inner arm—generally that’s the most protected areas from the sun. I hope that makes sense lol

This one I can’t get behind. The sun heals, when used responsibly. UV damage happens when you eat crappy foods and then bake in the sun. If you change your diet, you won’t burn as much, won’t get as much skin damage. Not only that, sunscreen blocks vitamin d absorption. Also, sunscreen prevents your body from producing its natural sunscreen, melanin. Getting a base tan, is actually best for the skin, as melanin protects the skin from sun damage better than sunscreen. When it gets slightly warmer, start working on a base, slow exposure. That way, by the time it’s mid summer and the sun is actually dangerous, you’ve built a sun callous, which protects you from damage. Yes, even natural sunscreens are not good for you. MOST Americans eat a diet full of seed oils. Just cutting out seed oils alone dramatically reduces our sunburns. And sunburns are what you’re most worried about. Sunscreen actually makes you more likely to get sun damage if you miss a day, because your body hasn’t been building up its natural defenses. The only time we do sunscreen, is if we’re going on a beach vacation in the dead of summer and are going to spend hours in the sun, and it’s beef tallow sunscreen. I have pale, blonde, freckled kids of welsh descent, and we have significantly reduced burns and sun damage by abandoning the sunscreen myth, and changing diet. Also, be sure to skip sunglasses, sunlight hitting your retinas signals the body to create your natural sunscreen, melanin. The sun heals, the sun prevents the need for other products and pharmaceutical products. That’s why they want you to block it, because it increases sales of other products.

Sorry to break it for some. Been using tanning beds for years, stopped 5 years ago and at almost 50 my skin has no significant sun spots and looks 25. I have no wrinkles around the eyes, none on the face, skin on my body is the same. Maybe is genetics also, but does not apply for everyone I guess. I have also smoked for a good amount of years but also quit. Now I wonder what would have been if I did none of these? 😳

Nope. Most are poison. Limit your time in the sun, but our skin needs to be exposed, but you do you.
