“Deserts should stay deserts.” No, actually, deserts themselves aren’t the problem but the issue is desertification, when land that used to be healthy turns into desert because of drought, over-farming, or climate change. China isn’t ‘destroying’ natural deserts, they’re stopping new desert from spreading into places where people live, grow food, and keep ecosystems alive. That’s why replanting vegetation is actually a good thing.
