I had more diagnostic testing yesterday and was told that I had calcification and they did see it on the ultrasound and the doctor said he’s 95% certain it’s cancer and his words were. It’s ugly in there. I’m going back this morning for a biopsy, I keep hearing that this can be DC IS and that that can be overdiagnosed and overt treated. I would just like to know your thoughts. I’m just on a seeking journey at this time.

Emily, grouped microcalcifications here. I’m going back in six months for them to monitor but my health anxiety is killing me. How annoyed do radiologist get if we request a sooner appointment? I don’t think I can wait until April for a follow up 😭😩

I was diagnosed a year ago. found a lump they did the ultrasound and mam told me it was calcification. I had to follow up in 6 months with same screening again to find out I was stage 4 idc.

hi Emily I had a memo u an ultrasound guided biopsy still waiting for biopsy results.however memo n ultrasound results showed heterogenously dense breast suspicious lesions,suspicious mass Birads 4B should I be concern

My biopsy of first calcification shown on mammogram is malignant. Second biopsy of new calcification is negative. Surgery date coming this month. Cancer sucks

Wait, but my Dr's all told me that because the calcifications weren't coming up on the ultrasound that meant I had nothing to worry about, just keep doing mammos every 6 mos (but also noted on the bottom of the letter it says BIRADS-3 but the one 6 months ago said BIRADS-0)

Going through this now. Biopsy came back benign but radiologist disagrees. Second opinionon pathology but no matter what a lumpectomy is recommend. Said very likely DCIS.

I am also a mamographer of 27 years . Say it louder for the people in the back . Those Breat Ultrasounds do not show calcs !!! I say this on repeat . Patients say all day “why can’t I just have an Ultrasound .”

I had the best team. Had a small 1 cm of micro calcification. DCIS. Had lumpectomy with a full reduction (size 44g). And got over 10 mm of clear margins. It was so small I can’t be lit it was even found!

Mine were monitored but this last one they did recommended biopsy. Came back as ADH with a lumpectomy recommend. I am still worried about DCIS when they test the tissue from the lumpectomy.

Meant cancer for me. Had a double mastectomy 10/1 for Stage 0 DCIS and final pathology was Stage 1 IDC.
