I saw a $1000 cake for a child’s FIRST birthday. Now my wedding was in the 1900s but it was maybe $350. How do you top a $1k cake for year 1?! “Congratulations, you got used to the air!” Sheesh.

just celebrated my elementary aged daughter's birthday last weekend. it was 5 of her friends at our house. Pizza,cake, and ice cream to eat. For fun, I set up a plastic folding table in the family room and the girls did some crafts. That was it, nothing fancy. High food prices are the only reason we spent more than $100. she even handmade the invitations on construction paper. She and her friends had the best time!
