not only is he persistant, he initiated it. this wasnt the owner over stepping the boundries. the dog was literally dominantly going over to sit on him first

This seems odd to me. All three of my dogs want to be in my space all the time. If they want space they will just go sit somewhere else. I’m confused by this behavior in the video. Maybe a specific owner/ dog issue.

Huge no! The dog went to him in an already agitated state. The owner is relaxed and can’t see any of these warning signs. Then the dog doesn’t stop…nope!

My dog had done something similar a few times. She seeks closeness then lunges. She has mild hydrocephalus. It happens very rarely, usually upon waking from a nap. I’m working w a vet behaviorist, but we can’t figure out the root cause. It didn’t happen the first 6 months I had my girl. She’s a 9 yo rescue. Otherwise she’s a great dog and has never shown aggression to anyone else or any dogs. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating.

Why would a dog turn on an owner for patting him? Warning doesn’t matter- a warning and attacking because the owner is relaxing and patting??? That dog is not right period…a dog should never be warning an owner for doing nothing…he would be gone in one second- have dogs all my life- can’t fix that
