@thesilentwitness1: Matthew Boorman was brut@lly murd€red on his own front lawn after years of escalating threats and intimidation from his neighbour, Can Arsian, in a case that stunned the Gloucestershire community. Boorman, a father-of-three and well-liked local resident, had just returned home from work on 5 October 2021 when Arslan launched a vi0lent, premeditated att@ck in the quiet cul-de-sac of Walton Cardiff. For more than a decade, tensions between Arslan and his neighbours had steadily worsened. What began as minor disputes over parking and property boundaries evolved into a relentless campaign of h@r@ssment. Many residents reported feeling unsafe in their own homes, installing CCTV cameras and repeatedly contacting police and local authorities as Arslan's behaviour grew more aggressive. On the day of the att@ck, Arslan lay in wait before attacking Mr Boorman in broad daylight. CCTV footage captured the horrifying scene, with neighbours trying desperately to intervene. Boorman's wife was injured as she attempted to pull Arslan away from her husband. Moments later, Arsian could be seen on the front lawn lighting a cigarette in what witnesses described as a shocking display of triumph. Arslan then forced his way into the nearby home of Peter Marsden, att@cking him as well in a second, frenzied assault. Marsden survived his injuries, but the incident left the entire street in shock. Officers responding to the scene arrested Arslan, who showed little concern for what he had done and openly taunted police as he was taken into custody. During the trial, Arsian denied murd€r, claiming diminished responsibility and alleging he was acting under the influence of imagined voices. However, psychiatric experts dismissed his claims, concluding that while he had a personality disorder, he was fully aware of his actions. The jury agreed, finding him guilty of murd€r, attempted murd€r and wounding. He was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 38 years. In his sentencing remarks, the judge described the k!lling as the deadly culmination of a "sustained, deliberate and vengeful campaign" against his neighbours.
