There’s so much of our culture that has been long lost because of British colonialism. I didn’t see the point of learning Irish in school (no one speaks it/it takes time away from subjects I need to get into 3rd level education), now I’m determined to speak it more, we’ve lost so much, we cannot lose our language too! Just FYI, the British Empire wasn’t just English.. it was British. Scots, Welsh and even Irish were over represented in the building of the empire.
