@amateurhunting: Trying to learn how to prepare a European Mount at home. I simmered the skull for about 3 hours total, taking it out every hour to pressure wash. I used a mix of Dawn, OxiClean, Borax. Overall the meat came off very easy with minimal effort. #deerhunting #deerseason #taxidermy #deer #hunting

Hope you didn’t put to much borax in, I was told borax breaks down proteins. I just did two with borax and had to reattach nose bones and nasal bones, I’ve done a half dozen without borax with no problems.

I don’t even put anything in there I get the water to a steady boil take a 2x4 lay it across pinch the horns.then let it sit for a little while about 45 mins and just peal off all the fat and meat and then bleach it

I’ve done all these methods and they work good, I have been just putting them in th ground come out perfectly 0 time involved. I could see this process if it’s go a customer as they prob don’t want to wait a year for a European mount
