@dadsocial: I want my kids to always remember how much better it feels to help others, especially when it’s hard. When I initially asked how I could help, all the staff asked for was a couple of shelves to stack more food. But, after talking with the incredible family that runs the pantry, they shared their vision for it to feel more like an actual grocery store with stocked shelves, a welcome mural, shopping carts, and just more of a wholesome shopping experience as opposed to a basic warehouse. So with those guidelines I rounded up resources and a couple friends and got to work. We did this entire revamp in 12 hours so that it could be open the next day to service our community.
