Why do the taxpayers have to pay for police that go against our constitutional rights and abuse their power? Shouldn’t that come from the police themselves or the person that committed those acts themselves? By having the taxpayers pay for the restitution in court and whatever, that doesn’t hold the police accountable whatsoever and they don’t have any repercussions beyond potentially getting fired and most of the time they don’t get fired and get a raise.
