@kaelaelizabethhh: just a little something i wish someone told me before going to nursing school #nursingschool #nursesoftiktok #nursingtips #nursetok #nurselife
My community college that is less than $8,000 total tuition has a 100% pass rate for several yrs in a row whereas the private colleges ($70,000+ tuiton) near me have around an 85% pass rate

I don't think schools matter but I've noticed that hospitals would rather hire RNs vs LVNs, so I think it's getting harder for LVNs.

My first clinical rotation was at the hospital I wanna work at, even got to work on the floor I wanna be on (thanks Jesus!) first thing I did was make sure to make a good name for myself and some important friends.

I was serving tables in a fine dining restaurant while in nursing school, I had business cards given to me by doctors to contact them for a job once I graduated based on our interactions while I took care of them at the restaurant. Lots of attention to detail and knowledge of menu and preparation techniques does translate to nursing.

Yes I went to cc and was so depressed and broke wanted college friends like all my other hs friends. , joined military part time, debt free, I got a new grad nicu job, got my bsn, now I’m a travel nicu nurse with no debt, respectfully making 2-3x more than the nurses back home. One of my best friends also went to a private catholic university in ny and she also owes like $100-150k . I have no regrets the way I did things, such an encouraging message to the young students

I don’t all the way agree with this. Going to a more prestigious or expensive school definitely has its advantages. New buildings, state-of-the-art equipment and simulation rooms, clinical connections and placements at the top hospitals in that city or area, huge alumni network. My program doesn’t even let anyone teach us that doesn’t have at least a MSN, mst have a phd or DNP. I’ve heard of smaller programs with professors who are not even nurses. My ABSN is the most respected in my city, hiring managers have specifically said that they pull applications from people with our program on it than any other in the city because our program is just that good and it’s a major university.

For real!!! I love my community college ADN, I hate that I even have to get my BSN because it’s so dumb imo 😭 (only doing it to join the military as a nurse)
