My parents did a very similar thing during the pandemic. My mum even said that they couldn’t possible help because they had to get the kitchen redone. Cosmetically might I add. Nothing was broken. I even challenged her ‘so you care more about your kitchen than your only daughter?’ And she didn’t disagree
