I make the same caramel, but I keep it boiling. I don’t put it on low for three hours and then I let the can completely cool before opening.

I cook mine in a crock pot for 8 hours. turn it off and leave them in the crock pot to cool o er night. Sets up really well

There's less calories in homemade, and also in homemade.You don't have all the additives and preservatives that they add to that , but you enjoy.

Next time butter the pan with melted butter and dust it with sugar. It creates a sugar crust on the bread and keeps it moist! It’s fantastic
