@thinkingcanine: Why do people think this dog is playing? What about this looks playful? If your dog does this, the appropriate move is to either take them for a permanent nap at the vet (not to dump them In animal control or give them to some unsuspecting person) or if you want to take the risk on yourself and family to see if the can be helped get them evaluated by a veterinary behaviorist and potentially a neurologist if they refer you to one. This is serious. There is no quick fix. And it’s a personal decision to live with a dog who randomly attacks.
It’s insane to me how few people seem to understand dog body language. On other site I got harassed for saying a chihuahua was being aggressive (snarling, showing its teeth, attempting to bite) and that the owners were actively encouraging it to be. People said chihuahuas are “just like that” and the owners “probably” weren’t doing anything wrong and I was overreacting. The amount of leeway people are willing to give in what objectively can be a very dangerous situation is ridiculous.

I made my guess in the previous video. do you have any info on the background of the dog? my guess leaned more towards pain response, but it would be nice to know more if there's more to learn about this case.

You’re showing 10 secs of a blurry video with no sound asking for people’s opinion. That’s so difficult.

Who the heck thought this dog was playing? There was nothing in those dogs, body language, even without sound on that would give any indication that this dog was playing it was definitely attacking

I often tell clients that a wagging tail means they are willing to engage but does not tell you at what level.

I saw a post of a guy who was in a very threatening position and hard staring at a dog he didnt know too well, and then looked kinda shocked the dog dared to bite him... AMD PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS ARE WANTING THE DOG TO BE PUT DOWN... I grabbed a can in a dog's leash area outside and it jumped on me pushing me away but not biting, guess what? I put my hand out to greet again and it didnt care, it just wanted to say "THATS MY CAN! THATS MY FOOD! but I still will accept pets" AND I RESPECTED IT BECAUSE IM NOT THE DOGS OWNER? YES RESOURCE GUARDING AND POUNCING IR TRYING TO BITE IS BAD, but it isnt a death sentence if it aint your dog and you can escape its attack.

it's about 10 seconds or less of possible warning to full on mauling attempt. if you don't count the 1st potential of stiff body, it's like 6 seconds. i don't care what anyone says, that's not normal & honestly, not worth it. there are thousands of dogs that won't maul you with 5-10 seconds of warning that need good homes

Dangerous dog, literally attacked, not just bit it's owner. A bite would have been bad enough, but that was a full on attack. 😔

it's likely this dog is either abused or has some severe neurological illness

The people saying it’s playing are the same ones yelling “he’s friendly!” As their dog charges people

I have a 5 month old Doberman mix puppy and sometimes when we’re walking she’ll start jumping and attempting to bite, she plays like that but sometimes her face seems aggressive, sometimes it happens for example when she’s hungry and we’re walking outside and she wants food, sometimes after playing I don’t know if she’s too excited ornaroused playing but then she gets that, what do I do? How do I differentiate it? Sometimes I think her pupils look bigger when I see her like this
