Oh he means that Japan is less superficial and I AGREE. In Japan it doesn't matter about physical appearance, if you have cool or CREATIVE fashion you will become popular and can 'get somewhere' while being really stylish in Korea doesn't matter unless you're also physically beautiful in my opinion✨

So true, as someone who works with korean artists ive reached out to companies to work with their artists and they would just ignore me cause they didn’t know who i was, now those same companies are reaching out to me to work with their artists cause now they suddenly see my value. No thanks.

nah. i cant agree. he just doesnt know the right people and the right places in Korea. those events for people with tons of followers are always terrible, but there are always afterparties and bars where you can meet people more easily

Networking really doesn't work in Korea, esp if you do not speak Korean. Even with connections, people you reach out to might have difficulties seeing the potential. Understanding the business value a "street-wise" person can bring, relying on someone else's skillset and knowledge to bring a novelty to the table - it simply doesn't exist as a mindset there.

He is 100% when it comes to public individual creative expression. You can merely walk down the street or enter a space, you're less likely to see outward expression of individual artistic expression through fashion, graffiti spots, artwork, decoration, etc. in Korea compared to Japan. I also agree that there's a greater emphasis on success than creativity and art in Korea.
