From his voice line of ver I feel like he's a little disappointed that she thought leaving him alone and "setting him free" was the best thing for him, like, "Couldn't you think of anything better, Mom?" But he doesn't have a huge hatred for her like others think, or at least not now.

Its a never ending cycle of hatred and love for ei he hates ei but still does crave for her recognition and love and affection and this feather is the only item thht ei left for him so he keeps it constantly it has so many bad memories the feather he wants to throw it away but this is the only kind of thing of affection towards him so he keeps it still (on my opinion btw) dont attack me

the comments are mischaracterizing him and even ei so badly ngl🥀again, scaramouche doesn’t see ei as a “mom” conventionally, and only calls her his mother ONCE, definitionally at that. aside from that, he simply sees her as a creator. the golden feather is not exactly a conduit for scaramouche’s connection to her, and isn’t inherently significant BECAUSE of ei; rather, its importance is born from the fact that it was the only thing given to him as his form of identification, rather than a name. it’s proof of his personage, and significant to his individualistic identity. that’s what it currently represents in his story, and isn’t exactly the tie to ei y’all perceive or characterize it to be😭
