10000% especially when the brother is more capable (physically), easily accessible (literally lives with the parents), and is doing nothing else with his life (jobless), they STILL ask the daughter 😭 They can’t see how much this paralyzes the son from growing up, and learning BASIC responsibilities. Then they ask the daughter to help her brother “grow up” and help him get a job (making the brother her responsibility too) 😭

I'm just joking, but you and your brother are your father's mother's children, but your brother is their son, their daughter, and you are their daughter. Especially in our society, the love that is shown to boys is not shown to girls or is not expressed. Especially when they get older, they will admit that they will never have as many sons as their daughters. That is the truth, so love your father and mother. Whether they love you or not is not the issue here, in my opinion.😂

"We raise our daughters and we love our sons". So sorry you have to deal with this. Will bear in mind as I raise my son and any future sibling he may have.

Even if you shared responsibilities with your brother, taking care of your parents should come from the heart — not with expectations of what others will contribute. Everyone has their own karma. You do what you can with a good conscience, and God will take care of the rest. Don’t expect anything from anyone. Do what you’re able to do, and move forward with peace.

You are 💯percent correct. We have to share the responsibility of helping as our parents as the get older. My parents are both in their 90’s and we share the responsibilities. I do encourage if you can find in your heart to help her, do it.

I live this everyday! I'm not understanding, your dad wanted you to bring your mom, but does he not know that you're not speaking to her?

Youre right for your situation. But in some families all of this responsibility falls on son, the daughters get married and move away but the son is expected to take care of everything for the parents getting the car fixed, doctors vists, paying bills etc.
