nah he wasn't looking at her for approval. the man is the head and the leader of the household. he wasn't looking over for approval, he was looking over to see if she trusted him to lead. even in the face of declaring war, he wants to know his queen trusts that he's thought this one out and knows what he's doing. complete misread of the scene and a husband/wife dynamic

the movie is a retelling of "the book of Ezra" from the Bible. the true "love of a man" is the love of God. he narrowed down the soldiers to only 300 and allowed them to rein vistory in God's name. 🥰 read it and be shocked at how simular the movie is too this inspiring history!
