It's simple: for anything AI can do we get spammed with content. We get spammed by ai slop writing, pictures, now videos and music. Do you see a ton of ai slop apps getting pushed everywhere? Has the amount of software released even increased?.Nope! So clearly, it's not working.

I think thats the point of the projects was not necessarily to make money but I think investors will still go, "Well I want money" and will probably dip the moment they can

The study itself says a lot about why the projects in the study failed. It’s quite revealing, especially to those of us who ARE seeing return from AI projects.

Thanks you 🙏. Every time I talk about the issues with AI in engineering people get defensive like im saying AI has zero place when all im saying is that it has some specific use cases but those use cases often arent really saving very much money compared to the cost

the issue is that paper that MIT released, people didn't read it to understand how the study was being conducted, everyone just went with the headline thinking 95% of AI project fails

been saying this for a while. went to Vegas for a work con a few months ago. 3/5 companies at the event were ai based and I guarantee they weren't turning a profit. bubble gonna burst.
