I don't know man, Gorillaz has always been music first to me. The characters are an optional backdrop to the music. It gives each album some character but it's nowhere near as important as the music itself.

the music and characters have always been incredibly seperate for me. sometimes ill realize "Noodle" sings in a song i didnt realise she sung in and get some dopamine bc im unfortunately obsessed with her but most of the time the characters are far out of thought when im listening to the music. I do absolutely love knowing everything about Noodle though. its mainly because when I first found her I thought she was a character from an actual cartoon in a fake band (dont even question it, Ive never been the sharpest tool in the shed).
