@eqsaddlery: 🐴💡 Equestrian Hack: How to Estimate Your Horse’s Weight with a Measuring Tape! Knowing your horse’s weight is super helpful — especially when you’re trying to work out how much worming paste to use. While a proper weighbridge is always the most accurate way to get a true reading, you can get a rough estimate at home using just a measuring tape 🙌 Here’s how to do it: 1️⃣ Measure the Heart Girth Wrap a soft measuring tape around the horse’s barrel, just behind the withers and around the girth area. Make sure it’s snug but not too tight. 2️⃣ Measure the Body Length Measure from the point of the shoulder to the point of the buttock. 3️⃣ Use This Handy Formula: (Heart Girth × Heart Girth × Body Length) ÷ 11,880 = Approx. weight in kg (using cm) 👉 This won’t give you a precise number — but it’s a useful guide when you don’t have access to scales, and perfect for getting a general idea of your horse’s weight. ✨ Remember: This method gives an estimate only. For medication doses, health checks, or weight-tracking, a certified weighbridge is always the gold standard. #eqsaddlery #weight #equestrianhack
